Glitchy screen

So while I was heading towards this place in avernus Which the place was just named stormgate. So when I sailed near it, I noticed my screen turned pitch black for about 2 seconds then it went back to normal (And no my eyes were not closed x. x) So what was that about and also whats that weird stormgate?
