Accidentally redeemed a companion on the wrong guy

I recently got the Handsome Dan Bulldog Officer. I was meaning to redeem him on my Privateer, but accidentally did it on my Witchdoctor. I haven't promoted him, selected his talents, or even used him in battle at all, if that information helps any. Is there anything I can do about this? Or am I stuck with him on my WD.
