The Ghostly Galleon Sails

I see that every other part of the new bundle ship is Dyable, but the sails that it comes with is "locked" on red and the vendor doesn't let you dye them at all.

If you take the sails off, the sails on the ship change to the color that you chose for the "mouth" of the ship.

Is this a bug, or is there a reason we cant dye the sails that the ship comes equipped with?
