An explorer badge might be nice. At it is, the Prictice Point you get is a fairly big deal, probably more important, especially at the lower levels, than gold or xp in that it can grant you a permanent ability. I'm for more rewards, but I think the reason that most people are looking for funky bunches, etc. is so that they can expand their pirates options. That's a pretty big reward!
