Regatta!!

Okay, I don't get it. I have a level 65 ship, and when I go in to the Regatta, I get matched against level 65 ships. Makes sense.

However, their pattern is such that I can't seem to take them on one at a time. I end up having to take on all four at once, and, as a result, I lose, big time.

Anyone have any clue how to isolate the ships?

In the update notes it says to bring friends, its like a bigger ship farming dungeon. You're entering a 4 pirate dungeon ( like the Tower ) and trying to solo something not intended to be soloed.

I didn't like the Regatta at ALL. Not only is it long, it's boring. And the scrip rewards aren't rich. You could go farming for scrip sinking regular enemy ships and get more than you would doing the gauntlet.

I found the Regatta exciting, fun, and challenging. Of the team that went in one got ejected from the 1st round boarding party ( a computer glitch, probably ). Eventually, though, our ships took a massive beating; concentrating firepower on one target isn't the strategy to use as the ships swarm on you like angry bees. I made it pass the round of the Shellshockers but was sunk by the Sunnybeachers. Has anyone made it all the way through?

I actually like the Regatta. Since I don't PvP (I just don't like the aggressive attitude displayed by each opponent I've had) it's a nice way for someone like me, a casual player who likes ship battles to earn extra scrip.

I did suggest that perhaps this fun should not be limited to only maxed pirates. Adding these gauntlets for groups of levels like 2-20, 21-30, 31-45, 46-65 or something like that would spread the wealth to all players. I currently have characters scattered throughout the Spiral, and I'd loved to try this in Cool Ranch or MooShu, but on an adjusted scale. Perhaps in Skull Island, only the five mob ships and one boss, and so on.

I went in with two others who had their Eagle Galleons and I had my Hoodoo Bundle Level 65 Galleon. We took out the enemies one-by-one, and I only got swarmed once when I wasn't pay attention due to typing a bug report/comment. I really liked being able to use the Dungeon Recall to return to my shipmates.

We got through all five levels in about an hour, as we had pretty good teamwork. I WAS disappointed by the rewards that were dropped. We got Mystery Nuggets and Skull Island Cave Wallpaper. My two least favorite drops of ALL time.

But I liked it overall and I am going to do it again a few times. I wish I could do it on all my pirates, though.

Please, please, PLEASE, remove the super common Skull Island housing item rewards from the Regatta bosses drop tables. Honestly, after soloing the first level of the Regatta (because everyone else must be in the Brawlin' Hall) I got
65 gold,
3 scrip,
66 gold,
65 gold,
66 gold,
and finally, from the BOSS battle-- 1542 Gold and a Royal Throw Pillow!??!! Not even any scrip from the guy. Solo.

I honestly would rather get just gold if there isn't something better than pillows and Cave wallpaper/flooring.

The Regatta is my favorite part of this update, since I'm not keen on PvP, so could you please throw it a little love for those of us who like nautical battles? Please...

We are just making sure everyone is ready for the next pillow fight.

While I will admit I was not thrilled with my Skull Island Wallpaper and low level ship parts, I was delighted with my canopy bed and gilded furniture and my other drops that I can't recall at the moment. I got a good bit of scrip too not counting thousands in gold, when I tallied the whole event. A lot of fun and some decent drops that I can only hope will just get better.

- how did I know someone would mention pillow fights?!

Seriously - it took me four hours, but I managed to solo this Regatta thingy last night. I got ship parts from boss fights and housing items from ship fights? Are you meaning to turn the world on its head and that's why we'll all need pillows?

The smuggled goods are great -- I received two Heavy Dining Tables, two Padded Stools, a Solar Rug, and some Theater Masks for my wall. I also got two more Royal Throw Pillows -- maybe for the next Pillow Fight you'll let us use what we already have stockpiled in our castles?
