Why Albion?

First, this question is more for the game designers than for players, but obviously anybody may respond to it.
What I'm wondering is why the Scottish/Irish section of Marleybone was named Albion. Traditionally Albion refers only to England, the ancient gaelic names for Scotland and Ireland are Caledonia and Eire respectively (I may have mispelled Eire).
