Floating Fighters?

As a pirate fights tend to break out. Correct? But when I went to Monquistia, I encontered something strange...FLOATING FIGHTERS! When I got in to a battle with a friend he was floating up and down, up and down! When I asked him "Why are you floating?" he responded with "lol funny, I'm not." This is reaccuring about 85% of the time on land and 95% of the time on ships. I'm now in Cool Ranch and it's a wierd problem, it annoys me and can destract me (for I have the attention span of a three yaer old sometimes...)! It only happens on my Muskateer and not my Privateer. Has this ever happened to you? If, so did it get fixed? Please help me!
