I am trying to free gortez but it will not let me interact with the winch. Does anyone have any advice? I have beat all the monkeys and it will not let me move the handle.

I've never had any problem with the Winch and I've done this dungeon over 50 times. My very first action is to have one of my characters attack the Winch and the rest get ready for the attack. I've never tried to defeat the Monkeys first and then free Gortez. This may be a bug which should be reported in the Bilge Pump forum.
