Multiple houses question?

So lets say I buy two different bundles on my account, and want to give them to the same pirate. Each bundle contains a house, how would having more than one house work? Or can you only have one? I've never bought a house before and use the dorm room in Avery's court for now so I'm not sure.

Hi! Per the Player's Guide: "You can purchase up to three houses, in addition to having your bunkhouse room."

You can always have more houses by using the potion "Additional House Elixer" which will increase the number of houses you can have by 1 for each potion. Of course, the potion does cost 3500 Crowns from the Crown Shop unless you can find it on sale.
